The novel “Memoirs of a Geisha” is written by Arthur Golden. It is about a nine year old Japanese girl named Sayuri, she lives with her parents who are unable to support her. Sayuri’s father is a fisherman and her mother is ill at home. One day she is sold to a “Geisha House” in Kyoto in the 1930s. In the following era young girls along with their virginity was sold to one of the highest bidders.
